James Beard Foundation’s #JBFTasteAmerica at the #EbellofLA – a delicious evening


Its a rare occasion when the finest of culinary artists gather in one place to share their tasty talents to an audience of distinguished guests, but it happened recently at The Ebell.  The Ebell of Los Angeles had the unique pleasure of hosting the James Beard Foundation Taste America event, and we couldn’t be prouder to host such an amazingly delicious evening.


Host Chef Louis Pechan welcomed James Beard Award Winner Chef Hugh Acheson (Empire State South, Atlanta) along with local chefs of renown from Animal, Republique, Broken Spanish, Viviane, Otium, Sqirl, and Alimento.  The top talents created epicurean delights for nearly 250 guests, accompanied by sips from Bacardi, Paso Robles CAB Collective, J. Lohr Vineyards, Robert Mondavi Winery, Stella Artois, and Nespresso.


Guests mingled and sampled selections from six chefs during the tasting reception and silent auction, with a soundtrack provided by The Replicas Music and Jeremy Weinglass Music.  The five-course dinner presentation featured wine pairing with each course, on tables set with place settings by Town & Country Event Rentals, linens from Elegant Design Specialty Linens and floral designs by Lotus & Lily Design by Jackie Combs.  The mood was set, accented and amplified by StageLabs.
