The Ebell of Los Angeles Website Privacy Policy

The Ebell of Los Angeles respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy will inform you of the identifiable information we collect, how it may be used, with whom it may be shared, and the choices you have to review and request changes to your personal information.

What information do we collect?

Automatic Information: We may automatically track and collect the internet domain address, domain server, type of computer and type of web browser used to visit our Website. That type of information (often referred to as traffic data) will remain anonymous and is not considered personal information. Traffic data helps us analyze how the Website is used and is helpful for analyzing usage of the Website and improving your experience on the Website.

Cookies: Like many websites, we use computer “cookies,” which are small amounts of data that we transfer to your computer’s hard drive through your web browser. We collect the information in the cookie when you visit the Website. The cookies enable our systems to recognize you, provide features to you, track your visits, process your reservations and/or analyze your use of the Website. We may use cookies to provide you with personalized notices of events or other things you might find of interest. You may be able to set your browser to reject cookies or to ask you whether to accept a particular cookie. If as a result of your settings we cannot recognize you, we will not be able to provide you with a personalized experience at our Website. For example, you will be required to re-enter personal information each time you place a request through the Website, instead of being automatically recognized.

Information you give us: We receive personal information from you when you fill out an online form (such as when you make a reservation or request information), or create or amend your profile on the Website or give it to us in any other way. At such times, you may provide us with information about you such as your name, physical address, telephone number, fax number, e-mail address, age, income, credit card and other billing information, birth date, gender, occupation, personal interests or hobbies, membership number, etc. It is completely your choice whether to provide this information. But, if you choose not to provide some or all of the information, you may be unable to make reservations, receive newsletters, notices or other information or access other services, features or content on the Website. We may also maintain a record of your reservations and other transactions with the Website.

E-mail Communications: We may maintain all or portions of e-mails that you send to our staff or Club e-mail accounts, and may combine that information with other information. To help us with our e-mail initiatives, we may receive a confirmation when you open e-mail that we send to you, if your computer supports such capabilities.

Information from Other Sources: We may sometimes receive personal information about you from other sources such as suppliers or other companies and add it to your personal information in our records.

Using & Sharing Information About You.

We use your personal information to conduct Club business such as making reservations, sending you information, offers or promotions, or to ask for updated or corrected information. Information collected may also inform improvements to our website, goods and services offered, and customer service experience. We may note personal preferences such as dining preferences, leisure activities, names and ages of children or family members, and other information either desirable to provide quality services to our members and guests or necessary to fulfill special requests (e.g., health conditions that require special room or dining accommodations, name of employer or emergency contact information.)

We may share personal information with companies and individuals that perform functions on our behalf, or they may collect the personal information on our behalf and provide it to us (for example: banks you may designate for automatic bill pay or credit cards authorized for payment.) Applicable third parties would have access to the personal information needed to perform their functions, but are not authorized to use it for other purposes.

In order to ensure that your contact information is correct and up-to-date, you may visit your personal profile. Through your personal profile you may: (a) review and update your contact information that we have already collected; (b) choose whether or not you wish us to send you information about upcoming events or (c) choose whether or not you wish us to share your personal information with other Club members and family privilege holders.

If at any time you would like to unsubscribe from receiving email newsletters and offers from us, we provide an unsubscribe link at the bottom of each email. We may still communicate with you via email regarding any inquiries, requests, transactions and agreements you have with us.
