About the chef
Fresh from the lauded Standard Hotel downtown, Executive Chef
Ron Armendariz brings variety and inspiration to The Ebell of Los Angeles. A graduate of the Southern California School of Culinary Arts in South Pasadena, he trained under chefs David Myers of Hinoki & the Bird, Joachim Splichal of Patina, and Marc Urwand of the Jean George restaurant Mercer Kitchen. He also worked with Wolfgang Puck‘s team to caterer the Academy Awards’ Governer’s Ball.
Perhaps his best credential is that while in culinary school he was hired to help with one event at the Ebell, of which he said, “I was in awe of the history of the building and the feeling I had in that kitchen as we prepared.” He is eager “…to continue in the tradition of quality and excellence that the Ebell of Los Angeles is known for.”
